Private Voice Lessons with Sarah Snodgrass
Bio:
I am the lead vocalist for local award winning Christian worship
group, Prevailing Words. Prevailing Words currently has three albums and has plans to
release a fourth in Spring 2010. I have fifteen years of vocal experience. As a child I
trained under the internationally recognized choral director Henry Leck as a part of the
Indianapolis Children’s Choir. I also was chosen for multiple state and regional
choirs. In High School and College I took private voice lessons in addition to performing.
In 2004, I began writing, performing, and recording with Prevailing Words. As I know that
there is always room for growth and improvement, I continue to take advantage of
opportunities to further my training and experience vocally.
Voice Lesson Details:
$15 per 30 minutes
All Ages *
*As a former Kindermusik Educator, I am experienced and comfortable working with young
children. If you have a child who loves to sing and you would like to encourage and
nurture your child’s passion for music, I can teach introductory lessons. These
lessons would take into account a young child’s shorter attention span and love for
play and movement. If you would like to learn more about what these lessons would look
like, please call me.*
Each individual’s lesson will be tailored to meet that person’s goals. Below is
a sample of some things that can be covered. Please feel free to ask about topics that are
not listed below.
Private Voice Lessons may include (but are not limited to)
- basic music theory / leaning how to read sheet music
- proper breathing techniques
- improving tone & pitch
- incorporating personal style
- using proper dynamics
- keeping consistent rhythm when necc. / singing with a band
- leading other vocalists (such as in a worship team or ensemble)
- following a lead vocalist (such as in a worship team or ensemble)
